The Radium Engineering 20-0754-FL PCV Fluid Lock Catch Can Kit is a purpose-built positive crankcase ventilation solution for the Subaru WRX VB (2022+). Running inline between the PCV valve and the intake manifold, this kit intercepts oil-saturated crankcase vapour before it re-enters the engine — protecting the FA24F engine from oil contamination during idle, cruise, and deceleration.

The catch can mounts to threaded bosses on the ABS unit using factory holes — no cutting, drilling, or permanent modifications required. The kit is a closed-loop design — it does not vent to atmosphere (VTA), making it emissions compliant and track legal. No extra inline check valve is required — Radium catch cans are pressure sealed.

PCV Circuit

The PCV catch can runs inline between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. When intake manifold pressure is near or above atmospheric (under boost), the PCV check valve closes and this circuit experiences no flow. Under idle, steady-state cruise, and deceleration, the PCV hose experiences metered vacuum — conditions that would normally draw crankcase vapour, unspent fuel, and oil sludge directly into the intake manifold immediately after a high-load run. The Radium catch can captures these contaminants and routes clean filtered air back into the engine, promoting negative crankcase pressure for optimal performance and preventing oil vapours from entering the cabin.
