The TE37 SAGA SL project began in early 2020. The prototype passed benchmark testing as development of the TE37 SAGA S-plus was nearing completion, and after vehicle testing and a win in the Super Taikyu Series 24-hour race, full-scale development began.

While the SAGA S-plus was designed to fit a wide range of vehicles, the SAGA SL sticks to the original SL definition: lighter than existing models, TE37 racing concave, and diamond-cut machining with a clear black finish that signals the SL’s light weight.
