The TE37 SAGA SL project began in early 2020. The prototype passed its benchmark testing as development of the TE37 SAGA S-plus was nearing completion, and after vehicle testing and a win in the Super Taikyu Series 24-hour race, full-scale development began.

While the SAGA S-plus was designed to fit a wide range of vehicles, the SAGA SL stays true to the original SL Series: lighter weight than existing models, the TE37 racing concave, and diamond-cut machining under a clear black finish that symbolises the SL’s lightness.
