The Radium Engineering Fuel Pump Hanger is a complete drop-in replacement for the factory in-tank fuel pump unit in the R35 GT-R. It supports up to three 39mm diameter aftermarket fuel pumps (brushed or brushless) and features an aluminium collector box that remains full during operation — eliminating fuel starvation even under aggressive driving conditions. No permanent vehicle modifications are required.

The fuel pump outlet port is 10AN ORB female threaded, and the return port is 8AN ORB female threaded. Compatible with gasoline, methanol, ethanol, E85, and all alternative fuels.

Fuel Starvation Prevention

The R35 GT-R saddle-bag style fuel tank uses two OEM venturi jet pumps to transfer fuel from both sides of the tank to the pump bucket. When fuel pumps are upgraded, these venturi jet pumps become a restriction in the return line — causing elevated fuel pressures and unreliable regulator performance. Radium Engineering has reconfigured the venturi jet pump plumbing to retain their function without impacting the fuel returning from the regulator.

In addition to the venturi jet pumps, the pressure regulator return keeps the collector box filled. Three integrated 355LPH one-way fill valves at the base of the collector box allow fuel in but not out (1,065LPH total fill capacity). All systems work together to prevent fuel pump starvation.

Notes:

• Venturi jet pumps consume 15-45 LPH depending on fuel pressure — account for this when sizing pumps
• If fuel pressure must hold steady after engine shutdown, install check valves in the fuel system feed line

Fuel Pump Compatibility

The 20-0572 supports 1, 2, or 3 pumps in any combination of brushed or brushless. The installer must supply their own fuel pumps and perform final assembly.

Brushed Fuel Pumps:

• Designed specifically for AEM 50-1200 and Walbro GSS342 (255lph)
• Other pumps with the same fitment and electrical connection may also be compatible
• Note: Walbro DCSS 39/50 E85 pumps (F90000267/274/285/295) are not physically compatible with this product

Brushless Fuel Pumps:

• Compatible with up to three Ti Automotive E5LM brushless fuel pumps
• Check valves supplied to prevent back-flow between pumps
• Note: A brushless fuel pump requires a separate stand-alone controller

Plumbing

To clear the OEM fuel pump cover plate, the kit includes low-profile swivelling adapters that convert to 6AN male, along with short PTFE hoses and adapters for easy connection to the OEM fuel piping. Additional adapter fittings are available and sold separately.

Filtration

Sock filters are provided for all 3 fuel pump inlets. As the Radium hanger eliminates the non-serviceable OEM post-pump filter, an aftermarket inline filter must be installed downstream. See the 20-0551-0X Fuel Hanger Feed Kits for compatible options.

Electrical

Custom-designed stainless steel electrical studs handle the high current demands of multi-pump and brushless setups. Connections are hermetically sealed and impervious to all standard and exotic fuels. Non-conductive anodised aluminium acorn nuts prevent accidental short circuiting. In-tank wiring is insulated with chemically resistant ETFE. Factory temperature and fuel level sensors are reused.

• Two aftermarket brushed pumps may be able to reuse OEM wiring
• A third pump will require custom wiring — specific to the pump model and trigger strategy used
