About Alcon Brakes
For over 30 years, Alcon has been at the forefront of high-performance motorsport braking. Engineered in the UK, Alcon brake systems deliver uncompromising stopping power and pedal consistency. Tested and proven in the most demanding conditions, including the Coore Racing Team STI driven by Cole Powelson. When pushing for a Top 5 finish at WTAC or taking 1st Place in Open Class at Aus Time Attack, consistent thermal management is non-negotiable.
Subaru WRX (VB 22+) Fitment Guide
The VB WRX features a stiffened chassis and highly capable FA24 powertrain out of the box. However, sustained track driving and increased boost quickly reveal the thermal limits of the factory braking system. Developed with insights from our partnership with Got It Rex, these Alcon Big Brake Kits are engineered specifically for the high-grip dynamics of the modern Subaru platform, shedding unsprung weight while massively increasing thermal capacity.
Confirmed Fitment:
- Subaru WRX VB (2022+)
Performance Tiers:
- Street Performance (CAR97 / CAR99): Engineered for spirited daily driving. These calipers feature standard dust boots to protect against the elements and road grime. Note: CAR97 is strictly engineered for 32mm rotor configurations.
- Street/Track Performance (CAR89 TA6 / CAR89 ENP): The ultimate hybrid setup. Highly capable track calipers upgraded with high-temperature dust boots that remain street-friendly. The ENP version features a premium Electroless Nickel Plating for superior heat radiation.
- Track Performance (CR6380 / CAR89): Dedicated motorsport braking built for extreme conditions. These lack dust boots and are strictly for competition use to ensure maximum clamping force without fade. Note: CR6380 is exclusively compatible with 355x32mm and 380x32mm rotors.
- Endurance Track (CR6420 / CAR89 Billet): Purpose-built for multi-hour events. Note: Endurance kits are strictly paired with high-mass 34mm and 36mm thick rotors to ensure maximum heat capacity during the longest stints.
*Important Note on Wheel Clearance: Upgrading to an Alcon Big Brake Kit will significantly alter your wheel clearance requirements. Please ensure you check the Alcon wheel clearance templates against your current wheel offset before purchasing.
