The RG-D2 is the first model change of the RG-D, which launched in 2010. It is a cast one-piece concave wheel with a step-rim form and three types of concave spoke.

The six spokes that are a tradition of the RG design are side cut on both sides, with the advanced side cut sweeping between pairs of spokes with no join. Each concave design is as deep as is possible with a cast wheel.
