Radium Compact Fuel Vent Charcoal Canister – Universal
Application: Universal – fuel tank and fuel cell vent systems (EFI and carburettor)
Part Type: Compact fuel vent charcoal canister
Part Number: 20-1827-00, 20-1827-08, 20-1827-12
Radium Engineering fuel vent charcoal canisters filter odours from the fuel tank vent system and suit both EFI and carburetted fuel systems. The compact canister reduces outlet fuel vapour to under 50ppm in a smaller package, while Radium's standard-size canister (20-1828) holds more activated carbon and needs less frequent servicing.
In Radium's testing, a combustible gas detector at the tank vent exit maxed out above 10,000ppm without a canister and read below 50ppm with one fitted, with negligible pressure drop. When the carbon becomes saturated, the canister can be disassembled and recharged with the 20-1827-SK service kit.
Key Features
- Vapour Filtration: Reduces outlet fuel vapour to under 50ppm
- Billet Body: CNC machined 6061 aluminium, Type II anodised for corrosion resistance
- Contained Media: Vibratory-packed activated carbon inside a 150 micron strainer and anodised aluminium baffle, so loose carbon can't escape
- 16AN ORB Ports: 16AN ORB (1-5/16"-12) female ports, usable as inlet or outlet
- Drain Ports: Two 4AN ORB (7/16"-20) drain ports with preinstalled plugs; one can take a petcock drain kit
- Rechargeable: Disassembles for recharging with fresh carbon
Available Configurations
- 20-1827-00: Universal – for 1/4in, 5/16in or 3/8in vent lines
- 20-1827-08: For 1/2in hose (standard flow) – pairs with the 20-0484-08 vent kit
- 20-1827-12: For 3/4in hose (high flow) – pairs with the 20-0484-12 vent kit
Optional Parts
- Radium Fuel Cell Vent Kit - 8AN (20-0484-08) – standard flow vent kit for the -08 canister
- Radium Fuel Cell Vent Kit - 12AN (20-0484-12) – high flow vent kit for the -12 canister
- Radium Fuel Vent Charcoal Canister Service Kit Standard/Compact/Cannister (20-1827-SK) – fresh activated carbon and 150 micron strainer for recharging
Important Notes
- Designed for use with Radium fuel cell vent kits
- A section of vent hose upstream of the air filter must sit higher than the fuel filler
- Adding vent line loops is recommended to help keep debris out of the fuel system
- Mount the air filter at the rear of the vehicle, away from the exhaust
- Recharge interval depends on use – oversaturated carbon reduces filtration efficiency
- Air filter and petcock drain kit are sold separately
- Installation instructions are available in the Instructions tab
