Technical advances by car makers have dramatically improved the performance of compact cars. Tyre grip has increased and better suspension has improved mechanical grip, so cornering speeds are higher and the loads going into the wheels are now similar to racing cars of a generation ago.

The 15-inch TE37 has been raced since its release in 1996. To go beyond it, RAYS redesigned everything to create the TE37 SONIC for high-performance compact cars. The spokes are wider than before and the spoke-end mounting surface has been moved out to the rim, increasing strength and rigidity.
