The Radium Engineering Fuel Pump Hanger is a drop-in replacement for the OEM hold-down flange in the stock Mitsubishi Evo 7-9 fuel tank, supporting 1 or 2 aftermarket fuel pumps. A single 8AN male pump feed port and 6AN male return port simplify aftermarket AN hose plumbing. Adapter fittings are also included to reuse OEM fuel lines if required.

One major issue with the OEM Evo 8-9 hanger is the restrictive return port and venturi jet pump. When using high-flow aftermarket pumps, the OEM jet pump creates unwanted backpressure in the regulator return line, causing excessive fuel rail pressure. The Radium hanger includes a redesigned venturi jet pump with an integrated pressure-relief valve to minimise backpressure. All returning fuel from the pressure regulator and crossover hose exits the jet pump, keeping the OEM tank baffle full for starvation protection.

Notes on pump configuration:

• Enough components are included for 1 or 2 pumps — unused parts simply won’t be used
• A pliable fuel pump filter sock must be used for proper fitment
• 65 micron sock filters are installed on all pumps. This kit eliminates the OEM post-pump filter — a low-micron aftermarket fuel filter should be installed downstream to protect injectors
• Single pump applications can reuse OEM fuel pump controller wiring, but upgrading to larger gauge wire is recommended for high-flow pumps

Electrical

Custom stainless electrical studs handle the high current demand that compact bulkhead connectors lack. Connections are properly sealed and impervious to all standard and exotic fuels. Low-profile design keeps all wiring tucked under the OEM cover plate. Non-conductive acorn nuts prevent accidental short circuits. In-tank wiring is insulated with chemically resistant PTFE.
