Overview

The PRL Motorsports Stage 1 Intake System is the most affordable PRL air intake upgrade for the FL5 Civic Type R — combining a 4-ply silicone hose kit with a high-flow oiled cotton drop-in air filter to deliver real airflow gains while keeping the factory airbox.

Why Stage 1

The corrugated factory inlet hoses disrupt airflow, killing throttle response and limiting top-end power potential. The Stage 1 kit replaces them with smooth, stepped-internal silicone hoses for seamless transitions — and pairs that with a high-flow oiled cotton air filter that increases filtration surface area by 10–15% while still trapping particles down to 5 microns.
