A great heat management upgrade to improve braking performance for track and race applications. Paragon titanium pad shims are made of high quality Grade 5 titanium (6AL-4V / ASTM B348). They fit between the brake pads and calipers, acting as an effective thermal barrier due to the significantly lower thermal conductivity of titanium compared to steel.

Reduce heat transfer from the brake pads to the calipers and brake hydraulic system to lower operating temperatures. When rotors and pads are hot, heat transfer via the caliper pistons to the calipers and brake fluid can lead to fluid overheat and brake fade. Fluid fade results in a soft brake pedal, reduced modulation, and is dangerous when there is sudden loss of braking power at the track.

Lower long-term maintenance costs by protecting the caliper seals, dust boots, and brake fluid. Excessive heat deteriorates these components significantly faster, leading to unnecessary replacement costs and wasted track time. Boiled fluid typically needs to be replaced after every track day — titanium shims help prevent that.
