About Exhaust Manifolds & Headers

Exhaust Manifolds & Headers — BRZ, GR86, GT86 & Subaru WRX/STI

Upgrade your exhaust manifold or header to fundamentally change how your engine breathes. Whether you're chasing the iconic Subaru rumble with an unequal-length header, maximising mid-range torque with an equal-length setup, or improving turbo efficiency with a twin-scroll manifold — the right header is one of the highest-impact modifications available for your platform.

Header Types Explained

  • Unequal-Length Headers
The signature Subaru setup. Unequal-length primary tubes produce the distinctive Subaru "boxer rumble" exhaust note. A popular choice for street builds where character and sound are as important as outright performance. Suited to EJ and FA platform Subarus.
  • Equal-Length Headers
Equal primary tube lengths improve exhaust scavenging efficiency and deliver a smoother, more linear power curve with stronger mid-range torque. The preferred choice for performance-focused and track-oriented builds. Available for EJ20, EJ25, EJ257, FA20, and FA24 applications.
  • Twin-Scroll Manifolds
Designed to work with twin-scroll turbochargers, these manifolds separate exhaust pulses from alternating cylinders to reduce turbo lag and improve spool response. Ideal for builds running a twin-scroll turbo upgrade on EJ or FA platform Subarus.

Vehicle Applications

  • Toyota GR86 / GT86 & Subaru BRZ — FA20 naturally aspirated platform. Equal-length and performance header options to improve flow and mid-range response on the flat-four boxer.
  • Subaru WRX & STI — EJ20, EJ25, EJ257, FA20, and FA24 turbocharged platforms. Unequal-length, equal-length, and twin-scroll manifold options across GH, GR, VA, and VB chassis generations (2008–2025).

All manifolds and headers are engineered for bolt-on fitment using OEM mounting points. No cutting or fabrication required. An ECU retune is strongly recommended following any manifold or header upgrade to optimise fuelling and ignition timing for the change in exhaust characteristics.
