Overview

The PRL Motorsports Baffled Coolant Expansion Tank in Black replaces the failure-prone factory plastic reservoir with a TIG-welded 6061 aluminium tank that more than doubles coolant capacity and dramatically improves cooling system reliability — particularly under sustained track and high-boost use.

Why Upgrade the Factory Tank

Over time, the OEM plastic expansion tanks on the FK8, FL5, and 1.5T Civic platforms weaken from repeated heat and pressure cycles. Failure can mean a sudden loss of coolant on track or street. PRL's tank is built from 3mm thick 6061 aluminium with internal baffling to prevent sloshing and cavitation at high G loads.

Installation Notes

Approximately 1 hour install. No ECU recalibration required. Designed as a direct replacement using the factory mounting locations.
